Broadway’s 3 Divas are taking the stage to dazzle audiences with everyone’s favorite show-stopping hits from Wicked, Gypsy, Phantom of the Opera, and Many More. Strait from the heart of Broadway, these powerhouse performers will bring beloved characters to life with voices that will soar through the arena. This performance will not disappoint!

Your LCSO will be opening the program with the vibrantly Orchestrated, Huapango, (1941) by Jose' Pablo Moncayo, a work bursting with color and energy.  The evening continues with a thrilling second half featuring selections from Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story. About Summer Pops:

The Lake Charles Symphony is a non-profit cultural and educational organization whose purpose is to provide a cultural enrichment for the community, to promote education, and awareness of symphonic music to the SWLA, to increase community's awareness of the arts, and to maintain the Lake Charles Symphony Orchestra.

LCSO’s Summer Pops has been a tradition for almost five decades. Summer Pops strives to pair popular music with the elegance of the orchestra. In years past we have celebrated "Rock Orchestras" like the Eagles, "Pop Orchestras" with ABBA and Awesome '80's, Magic and the compositions of John Williams, and Original Orchestrations of Sean Ardoin and the Kreole Rock & Soul. A true celebration of our culture!

This year's celebration promises to be even more amazing with "Bravo Broadway".  Experience some of Broadway's most beloved favorites including songs from Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Gypsy, and many more!

*Special Note: As a special request from one of our patrons, your LCSO will be opening with the Colorfully Orchestrated, Huapango, (1941) by Jose' Pablo Moncayo. As an EXTRA EXTRA special treat to the audience, the second half will be opened with Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story. Both compositions rely heavily on percussion, trumpet and harp.
